Clocking 22.31 odd-crore impressions, Republic Bharat has claimed the number one position in the ‘Hindi News Genre’ in week 33.
As per BARC’s latest numbers released on Thursday, in the HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals market Republic has left behind all the other top Hindi News channels. The others in the top five are AajTak, India TV, TV9 Bharatvarsh and News18 India.
Only last week, Republic Bharat bagged the top position in the Hindi News category for Week 32, as per BARC data for the 15+ Target Group.
Commenting on the numbers, Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami told exchange4media, “We are the voice of the people and a through and through news channel. That has taken us to the top spot. My channel’s competitions must accept the reality of a new India where new and more vibrant news brands will throw out the old dynast.”
“While others wasted their time in blocking me I have only focused on my editorial content which is pure news. With the new success of our channel my strategy is to renew my pledge for 100% news. I think it is time for AajTak to introspect and get rid of viral videos, television soap snippets and dance reality shows on a channel they call a news brand,” he added.
