TV18 Broadcast Ltd has received an order from the Joint Commissioner of Central Goods & Services Tax, Noida, imposing a penalty of ₹23.98 crore.
The order, issued on February 3, 2025, cites alleged irregularities in the availing of transitional credit, including Cess and Krishi Kalyan Cess (KKC), during the financial year 2017-18, said Network18 in a BSE filing.
TV18 got merged with Network18 in October 2024 after the approval from National Company Law Tribunal.
“The company intends to file an appeal against the order,” Network18 said.
The authorities claim that the company wrongly availed credit while filing Form TRAN-1 under the provisions of the Central Goods & Services Tax Act, 2017, and the Uttar Pradesh Goods & Services Tax Act, 2017.
The company has clarified that the financial impact of this order is limited to the penalty amount and does not affect its operations or other business activities.
