Sun TV Network ad revenue increased 2% YoY in Q2’17
Total revenues for the quarter were up 10.21 per cent YoY at Rs.625.49 crores with subscription revenue up by 17 per cent YoY to reach Rs 228.55 crore.
Sun TV Network Limited announced today its quarter results for the quarter ended September 30, 2016. Total revenues for the quarter were up 10.21 per cent at Rs.625.49 crores with subscription revenue up by 17 per cent to reach Rs 228.55 crore as compared to the quarter ended September 30, 2015. Profit after tax (PAT) was up by almost 22 per cent and stood at Rs 270.35 crore YoY.
The flagship channel “SUN TV” of the group continues to remain the No. 1 channel on an all India basis ahead of Colors, Star Plus, etc. said the group in its quarterly statement. In addition, Gemini TV is also ranking among the top five Channels in India in recent times and as per the latest BARC ratings, has notched the fourth position on an All India basis in week 44.
For the quarter ended September 30, 2016, the advertisement revenue was up by about 2 per cent at Rs.309.43 crores, as against Rs.302.93 crores for the corresponding quarter ended September 30, 2015.
The total Income for the quarter ended 30th September 2016 also was higher by 13.34 per cent at Rs.674.29 crores as against Rs.594.91 crores for the corresponding quarter ended September 30, 2015.
During the quarter, the EBITDA was up by 8.32 per cent at Rs.466.32 crores as compared to Rs.430.52 crores in the previous quarter ended September 30, 2015.
