Stocks of media companies showed mixed trends amid volatility in Jan 6-10 week

The media sector faced a challenging week, with most stocks showing declining trends and minimal upward momentum.
ZEEL and TV Today showed some resilience mid-week, while Network18 and NDTV experienced steady declines.
ZEEL
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) witnessed fluctuating share prices throughout the week. The stock opened on Monday at Rs 125.10 and touched its lowest point of Rs 122 the same day. However, it rebounded mid-week, reaching Rs 135 on Wednesday, the highest for the week. By Friday, the price had settled at Rs 127 before closing at Rs 125.29, marking a marginal improvement from the week's start.
Network18
Network18 Media saw a continuous downward trend. Opening the week at Rs 72.25, the highest price for the week, the stock experienced a steady decline. By Tuesday, the price fell to Rs 69, and it continued to drop by approximately one rupee daily, closing on Friday at Rs 62.95, the lowest for the week.
TV Today
TV Today showcased a roller-coaster performance. The stock opened at Rs 212.29 on Monday but dropped by Rs 6 that day. On Tuesday, it slightly recovered to Rs 208.85 and maintained stability until Thursday, when it surged to Rs 221, the week's highest. However, Friday saw a sharp decline to Rs 205, the week's lowest, before closing at Rs 207.35.
ZMCL
ZMCL’s stock also exhibited volatility. It opened on Monday at Rs 20.43 and closed at Rs 19.23, marking the week's lowest. A mid-week rally on Wednesday pushed the price to Rs 21.15, the highest for the week. However, the stock fluctuated thereafter, eventually closing at Rs 19.95 on Friday.
NDTV
NDTV’s share price started the week at Rs 164.60, its highest point. The stock steadily declined, dropping to Rs 159 by Wednesday and Rs 151 by Friday. It closed the week at Rs 150.80, the lowest price recorded.
HT Media
HT Media’s performance was lackluster, starting at Rs 23.16 on Monday and briefly touching Rs 23.23, the week's highest. A steady decline followed, with prices hovering around Rs 22.70 for most of the week. On Friday, the stock dipped to Rs 21.70 and closed at Rs 21.20.
Jagran Prakashan
Jagran Prakashan opened the week strong at Rs 83.51, its highest price. However, it saw a consistent decline, reaching Rs 81.50 on Tuesday. The stock slightly rebounded to Rs 83 on Wednesday before continuing its downward trend and closing at Rs 80.25 on Friday. The week's lowest point was Rs 79.49.
