Sr. Journalist Madhuker Upadhyay’s wife Kumud Upadhyay passes away

Kumud Upadhyay, wife of senior journalist Madhuker Upadhyay and mother of well known journalist Sanket Upadhyay passed away this morning at Escorts Hospital in Delhi. She breathed her last in the early hours of the day.
The funeral will be held today at 12:00 PM at Lodhi Crematorium in Delhi.
Madhuker Upadhyay is a well-known name in Indian journalism, best recognized for his long association with BBC Hindi, where he worked from both London and Delhi. Over the years, he produced several acclaimed documentaries and radio features, including the series The Mahatma, a project he researched and developed over nearly a decade. He also hosted the cultural program Bharatanama, which highlighted India’s heritage and traditions through extensive travels.
Beyond journalism, Upadhyay has contributed as a teacher and author. He served as a professor at the National Tribal University in Amarkantak and has written extensively on sociopolitical issues.
The media fraternity has expressed grief at the loss, remembering Kumud Upadhyay with deep respect and extending condolences to the family.
