Rajat Sharma to contest for DDCA President’s post

Sharma's team will consist of Rakesh Bansal who will fight for the post of Vice President, Vinod Tihara for Secretary and Om Prakash Sharma

Senior journalist Rajat Sharma is all set to enter the world of cricket. According to media reports, Sharma will fight election for the post of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) President.

Sharma's team will consist of Rakesh Bansal who will fight for the post of Vice President, Vinod Tihara for Secretary and Om Prakash Sharma. The names of others candidates of Sharma’s team are expected to be announced soon.
Sharma's candidature is backed by former DDCA President Sneh Bansal and Treasurer & International Hockey Federation President Narinder Batra.

The polls are scheduled for June 30, 2018. They were last held in 2013. The dates for the elections were declared by administrator Justice Vikramajit Sen on Tuesday. He also announced that the much-criticised proxy voting system will not be followed any longer.

Rajat Sharma is the Editor-In-Chief and Chairman of India TV and a Padma Bhushan awardee.
