ABP Sanjha, a news channel from MCCS has recently received a license from Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Ashok Venkatramani, CEO, ABP Sanjha says, “We have just got the license and we are in the process of getting the team together and resolving last minute issues. Hopefully, the channel should be up and running soon. The focus is obviously Punjab. It is a great market and a robust economy. Many SMEs have established strong and solid businesses. It is also a very brand conscious market. Overall, our assessment is that the potential is quite good. Historically, we’ve seen that for advertisers, Punjab has been a difficult market to crack in terms of reach and there is a vacuum there, specifically in news.”
The channel will compete with players like PTC, Zee Punjab, & MH 1. The channel is currently on YouTube and will be available on DTH and cable platforms shortly.
