Nickelodeon and McDonald’s have partnered once again to bring to Indian kids one of their favourite toy characters – SpongeBob – in McDonald’s Happy Meals.
It is going to be introduced in 30 cities across all McDonald’s outlets. This meal would cost Rs 105 and kids would get to select their favourite avatar of SpongeBob. The initiative will continue for the next four weeks.
The meal will contain SpongeBob in eight different avatars – a scientist, CEO, astronaut, chef, painter, policeman, to name a few.
Commenting on the reason behind the tie-up of the channel with McDonald’s for the second consecutive year, Sandeep Dahiya, Senior Vice President – Consumer Products and Communications, Viacom 18 Media said, “Last year the response exceeded our expectation. The brand managed to sell about seven lakh SpongeBob Happy Meals. That pushed us to do it again this year.”
Nickelodeon will be promoting the Happy Meal on its channel. As kids watch cartoon channels, promotions on it will excite kids and create a buzz, shared Dahiya.
This association is mutually beneficial. Dahiya said, “With SpongeBob, McDonald’s will be able to bring a smile on the kid’s faces and Nickelodeon will be able to effectively engage children with its cartoon character.”For more updates, be socially connected with us on
