NDTV to not launch Gujarati news and current affairs channel

NDTV has informed the stock exchanges that it has voluntarily returned the permission for uplinking and downlinking of the proposed news and current affairs channel named 'NDTV Gujarati'.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has granted the approval for the same on August 17, 2023.
The company has said that this decision has been taken as part of the process of streamlining its operations and focusing on key strategic initiatives. The operations of NDTV Gujarati channel have not started yet, so this decision would not have any significant impact on the company's business or financial position.
