The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a notification on January 3, 2018 informing broadcasters about the provision of online submission of applications for change of Channel Name, logo etc. and other services like Foreign Remittance proposals.

“It is requested that hereon all such applications should be made online only through the web portal www.broadcastseva.gov.in,” the notice read, making it mandatory for all broadcasters to use the online service for submitting their applications.

According to the notice, applications for temporary uplinking, permission to set up a teleport, foreign remittance, change of satellite, channel name/logo, language of channel, category of channel, mode of transmission, teleport and teleport location are available on the government portal.

The notice also added, “Annual permission fee module is active and payment of annual permission fee should be made online only."

The website says this move is in keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative for "Ease of Doing Business", "Digital India" and "Make in India" and “provides a single point facility to the various stakeholders and applicants to make their applications for various permission, registrations, licences, etc. issued by MIB for broadcast related activities.”
