Hersh Bhandari, who was serving as Chief Executive Officer of Republic TV, has stepped down from his role after a nearly eight-year stint.

An internal email accessed by e4m stated, “Just keeping you all in the loop that the company has accepted the resignation of Hersh with immediate effect and he has been on gardening leave since last week. Please adjust your reporting and business conversations accordingly. As and when others join in, team members and business associates will be informed.”

“Please also be informed that a code of conduct is applicable for all employees at the Network and violations of the code of conduct in personal or professional interactions can be brought to the notice of HR for immediate action”, the letter further stated.

Over the past few months, the network has been restructuring its sales operations, including bringing in third-party partners to oversee processes. Significant changes have also taken place in the legal and human resources functions as part of the reorganisation.

Bhandari joined Republic after a career spanning more than two decades across India’s leading media companies. Prior to Republic, he was associated with India Today Television and earlier spent six years with Times Network. Bhandari was elevated to the position of Group COO in February 2022. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing Republic’s national broadcast operations and shaping the network’s plans for growth across new regions and languages.

Bhandari was preceded by Vikas Khanchandani, who exited as Chief Executive Officer in 2022.

Bhandari could not be reached for comment at the time of publishing.
