Everest continues its climb, Aryan battles tough foes in week 48
Not all recently launched fiction shows on Hindi GECs have fared well with ratings

In week 48 (November 23 – 29, 2014) ratings we review the performance of recently launched fiction shows on Hindi GECs. According to data sourced from TAM subscribers, we took a look at fiction shows such as Everest, Maharakshak Aryan, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar, Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali and Pukaar.
Everest, which is an Ashutosh Gowariker production, on Star Plus started with 2.8 TVTs in week 45 but has gradually climbed up the charts. In the following week (week 46) it rose to 3.1 TVTs and in week 47 it climbed further up to 3.6 TVTs. Currently at week 48 its ratings have risen to 3.9 TVTs. The show runs at the 10 pm lot on weekdays and has got good traction for a finite series. Overall, Star Plus saw ratings fall for the second week in a row. Its ratings this week declined to 625 million GVTs in week 48 from 631 million GVTs in week 47.
Zee TV’s Maharakshak Aryan which was launched in week 44 has recently saw its ratings decline. The show which runs only on weekends during the 7 pm slot in week 44 in its first week of the launch it scored an impressive 3.2 TVTs. In the week 45 however it declined to 3.0 TVTs and the ratings stayed the same the following week too. In week 47 it declined further to 2.7 TVTs. Currently in week 48 it declined to stand at 2.2 TVTs. Considering it is in a weekend slot the show has done quite well. Zee TV saw a marginal increase in ratings to 435 million GVTs this week from 433 million GVTs in week 47.
Life OK launched two new shows recently i.e. Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali (Mere Rang) and Pukaar. Mere Rang which was launched in week 47 at the 7:30 pm slot on weekdays brought in ratings of 1.5 TVTs in week 47. However, in week 48 it declined marginally to 1.4 TVTs. Pukaar which just launched in week 48 which stars Rannvijay Singh in its first week scored ratings of 1.4 TVTs. The finite show is placed in the 8:30 pm slot on Mondays and Tuesdays and replaces Tumhari Pakhi. These shows have not had the ideal start but it remains to be seen how they will progress in the weeks to come. Life OK at fourth spot on the ratings chart saw its ratings decline marginally to 324 million GVTs this week from 326 million GVTs last week.
Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has recently launched fiction show Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar. The show is placed on the 10:30 pm slot on Monday to Thursday. The show Humsafars which was previously in this slot has been shifted to the 8:30 pm slot post the end of Kaun Banega Crorepati 8. It started off its account with an unimpressive 1.4 TVTs in week 47. The show in week 48 has seen a marginal decline but remains the same at 1.4 TVTs. SET increased its ratings to 230 million GVTs in week 48 from 207 million GVTs in week 47.
