Aaj Tak’s top anchor Punya Prasun Bajpai steps down, set to join ABP News

Bajpai has been the recipient of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka award for Hindi print and electronic media in 2005-06 and 2007–08.

Well known news anchor and Executive Editor of Hindi news channel Aaj Tak, Punya Prasun Bajpai, has stepped down from his position. According to reliable sources, he will be joining ABP News Network in a senior position.

Bajpai started his career in electronic media with Aaj Tak in 1996 and worked there until 2003. He then worked with NDTV for a tenure of 14 months. Then, in 2007-2008 he worked with Sahara Samay as Editor-in-chief. Bajpai also worked with Zee News for 4 years as a prime time editor, before returning to Aaj Tak.

In 2015, Bajpai was one of the ten most active Indian journalists on Twitter. In 2001-2006 and again in 2007-2008, Bajpai had been the recipient of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka award for Hindi print and electronic media.

Despite repeated attempts, Bajpai could not be contacted and ABP did not confirm the development.
