Businessworld magazine has appointed Sourish Bhattacharyya and Bikramjit Ray for the soon to be launched BWIHotelier with London based

Businessworld magazine after its takeover less than a year ago by Anurag Batra from ABP has been on an aggressive growth path. They have been hiring Senior Media talent in the edit, business and Events space. Some senior media hands they have hired to name just a few prominent ones are as follows: 

Business: Bhuvanesh Khanna, Rakesh Gopal & Vivek Mittal

Editorial: Sourish Bhattacharyya & Bikramjit Ray

Events: Vijo Mathews & a sizable team under him to drive the Events business.

Bhattacharyya & Ray are their latest high profile hires. While, the finer details of his engagement and responsibility will be known shortly. It is learnt they will work with Businessworld Editor Rajeev Dubey and with the CEO, Communities, Bhuvanesh Khanna.

Sourish Bhattacharyya, who was last the Executive Editor of Mail Today, has joined the BW team as a Consulting Editor – BWIHotelier for the leading Indian business fortnightly's foray into the hospitality B2B media in partnership with the London-based global major

A journalist with 29 years behind him in the profession, Bhattacharyya is an established food and beverage writer (best known for his bi-monthly column, Fortune Cookie, in Mail Today), a much-followed hospitality industry blogger (, Co-Founder of the Delhi Gourmet Club, and an initiator of the highly successful Top Chef Awards. He has also been awarded the Best Food Columnist Award by the Indian Culinary Forum, the national organisation of chefs.

Bhattacharyya, a History graduate from Hans Raj College, University of Delhi, who later earned his Master's in Journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, Ohio University, U.S.A., has previously been the editor of HT City (Hindustan Times) and national features editor of The Indian Express. He started his career with The Telegraph in Kolkata in 1985.

Food critic, writer and television journalist Bikramjit Ray has joined BWIHotelier as Executive Editor.

Ray is a Political Science graduate from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He was previously the Editor, Food and Hospitality for CNN-IBN and the Network 18 Group prior to which he was an Assistant Editor at the India Today Group. He started his career with The Times of India in Ahmedabad in 1995. 

A journalist with 19 years of experience, Ray is an established food journalist (best known for his TV shows, Secret Kitchen on CNN-IBN and The History Channel and Fat Man and 13 Brides on NDTV Good Times). He has also received multiple Indian Television Awards for his show Secret Kitchen on CNN-IBN and The History Channel.

The launch is slated very soon, perhaps middle of December. His task will encompass Print & Digital.
