Hindustan Times promoted its chief content officer Rajesh Mahapatra, on October 31, and assigned him a new role of Editor-at-large

Hindustan Times promoted its chief content officer Rajesh Mahapatra, on October 31, and assigned him a new role of Editor-at-large. Newly appointed Editor-in-chief Sukumar Ranganathan informed the employees about the same.

In his new role, Mahapatra “will work on assignments and projects cleared by the Editor-in-Chief to whom he will report,” Ranganathan stated.

Since the news of HT’s former Editor-in-chief Bobby Ghosh’s sudden departure from the organisation spread last month, there were rumors that Mahapatra would be considered for the position.

But, Soon after, it was announced that Rangathan, who was previously heading Mint, would take the role of HT’s Editor-in-chief.

According to sources in the organisation, there were speculations that Rajesh Mahapatra might quit Hindustan Times.
