Staying true to its commitment of providing a connected experience to its customers, Vodafone has taken a pledge to make Kumbh ‘safer’ this year. Vodafone is launching several initiatives to enhance ‘Kumbh’ experience not just for the ones who are physically attending the event, but also for the ones who could not.
On this auspicious occasion, Nipun Sharma, Business Head, Vodafone Idea Ltd, UP East. said, “This year, Vodafone further builds on its rich history of innovations at Kumbh. By deploying its globally acknowledged RFID technology, it will benefit the surge of humanity congregating in Allahabad to ensure a safe and worry-free spiritual experience for millions of pilgrims visiting Kumbh Mela.” Vodafone will be enhancing the experience for visitors on ground and off ground this Kumbh via string of innovations built on digital journeys.
Vodafone Milaap service is meant for all age groups to, be safe and stay in constant contact with family during Kumbh. Through this service, Vodafone will provide Radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag to children and senior citizens along with the details of their parents or guardians. These RFID tags -enabled with a simple identification process; will allow local authorities/ police to take any child/ senior citizen found unaccompanied or under a panic situation to visit the nearest Vodafone Milaap/ Khoya Paya booth. On flashing these RFID tags on the RFID reader, the concerned parent’s contact details will be assessed . The parent will also receive the details of the concerned Milaap/ Khoya Paya booth from where he/she can reunite with their child ensuring the safe handover of the ward.
Vodafone Location Alerts
To keep people at Kumbh constantly in touch with their loved ones, Vodafone brings a special service for their customers to share their location details absolutely free. Subscribers will have to follow a simple process of registering and providing their family’s contact details by dialing a short code 55100. This service can be availed on any kind of handset without the requirement of any balance or data.
Vodafone and Idea customers will have access to six shops at Kumbh where they can recharge, top-up or buy a new SIM. Customers can also avail services like RFID Milaap, activate location-based services, Kumbh Darshan services and much more from these shops. Through this, Vodafone ensures the fulfillment of all telecom needs of their customers and save their time and efforts while enjoying Kumbh.
Kumbh Darshan Service
This service will be like a live update app which would help people to be abreast with all the major events at Kumbh. The alerts will be available after registering on *123*53#. A one-time nominal fee of ₹ 10 will be charged, which would be valid till March 5, 2019. The alerts would include updates like- Holy Bathing Dates, Special Muhurat, Astrological & Mythological Significance of Kumbh, major announcements & attraction of Kumbh, Govt. arrangement details, Travel tips, Audio & Video feed from Kumbh.
Kumbh on Vodafone Play
A 22-minute episode of Kumbh will be available on Vodafone Play daily for the people who are unable to physically attend the event. Being the biggest congregation of faith and pilgrimage, Kumbh the 50-day event with 150 million people will witness Holy water of Sangam, Prayagraj.
