The results of EEMA Elections 2020 have been declared and Roshan Abbas, Managing Director, Encompass and Co-founder Kommune has been elected as the new President.

These elections witnessed massive participation. Out of the total 169 votes, 166 members participated in the voting, which is a massive 98.2 per cent.

With the new EEMA leadership in place, EEMAs outgoing President and Managing Director of Teamwork Arts--Sanjoy K Roy, has said that the new leadership should get ready to face some enormous challenges that COVID-19 has posed.

Speaking to Everything Experiential, Roy said, “The challenge for the new EEMA leadership is enormous. The COVID Era and the uncertainty around health and business has impacted India and the world. Our colleagues will have to drive policy, negotiate benefits and work closely with central and state governments and continue to chart a path forward for our sector. It will be an honour to pass on the baton and look to renewed dynamism of Team EEMA 2020. I wish them the very best.”

It must be mentioned that COVID -19 has put the livelihood of millions of daily wage workers associated with the events industry at risk and posed grave challenges to business owners. The expectations from the new leadership would be to address these issues on priority and find workable solutions within a set time frame.
