 LINE reaches the milestone of 30 million users in India

LINE, a mobile platform with 560 million users, has announced that it has achieved 30 million registered LINE user base in India.

“In a short span of time since entering the Indian market, we have surpassed another milestone of 30 million users. Optimal user experience is in the heart of every feature that we bring for our users in India, as we make sure that our new features and services take our users beyond the usual messaging communication experience. As the leading global mobile platform, LINE now offers a variety of communication, entertainment and information features for all users in India to enjoy,” said Damandeep Singh Soni, Head -- India business development at LINE.

May 2013 marked the formal launch of LINE in India. The story of LINE continued with a TVC launch in June 2013 with Katrina Kaif and by October 2013, LINE had reached the 10 million users mark, increased to 15 million in December 2013. It now stands at an astonishing 30 million as of today.

According to a company statement, in India, LINE users have shared great response on the dynamic features and services offered through one-stop platform on LINE. Any LINE user can enjoy more than 20,000 unique stickers in everyday chat, in addition to the easy-to-use free voice and video call features that help them stay connected anywhere. Moreover, LINE has introduced localized stickers such as ‘Diwali’ stickers to spice up the Indian users’ chat experience.

To continue enhancing the user experience, LINE India hastied-up with online sellers such as Groupon and Jabong with rewarding deals and will continue to introduce other valuable partnerships. In addition, the newly introduced ‘LINE REWARDS’ Official Account enable LINE users to enjoy limitless rewards and exciting exclusive offers.

In addition, 72 LINE family apps such as LINE camera and LINE SnapMovie are available to create trendy photos and videos. In particular, more than 40 dynamic games are available through LINE’s gaming platform, creating a complete one-stop mobile platform.
