e4m Media Ace Awards 2024: Vikram Sakhuja named ‘Independent Agency Head of the Year’

The exchange4media Group hosted the eighth edition of e4m Media Ace Awards on November 11 at a glittering award ceremony in Mumbai. At the glamourous awards night, Vikram Sakhuja, CEO, Madison Media and OOH, Madison World, was honoured with the ‘Independent Agency Head of the Year’ award. The award ceremony was graced by industry luminaries including top leaders and experts from the advertising and marketing world. Vikram’s visionary leadership has continuously helped media agencies to shape progressively.

The ‘Independent Agency Head of the Year’ award is given to an individual who inspires passion and motivation in the team of the independent agency he is leading. This individual is someone with a vision and the path to realise it, ensuring his team has the tools to achieve the agency's mission.

Expressing delight at receiving the award, Sakhuja said, "Thank you exchange4media for the honour, this is is really humbling. I really think the achievements come from the team behind me as they give me the wings. So, again, this one is for the team".

Vikram Sakhuja has nearly 40 years of experience with industry giants like P&G, Coca-Cola, Star TV, WPP, and Madison. He began his career as a DCM Management Trainee in 1984 and joined P&G in 1988 handling marketing research and media. He moved to Coca-Cola, where he managed brand marketing for five years. Later, Sakhuja joined Star TV as EVP Marketing before joining the WPP group in 2001, eventually becoming the first Indian Global CEO of a global advertising and media agency.

Currently, Vikram is the Group CEO of Madison, India’s largest independent media agency group, probably the first career professional to get this opportunity. He is an IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta alumnus.

e4m Media Ace Awards recognises Indian media agencies and their professionals for their outstanding work and contribution to the advertising industry. The winners were selected by a revered jury across three categories – Agencies, Specialist Agencies and People. This year, the Jury was chaired by Sanjiv Mehta, Executive Chairman at L Catterton India and Former CEO of Hindustan Unilever.
