IRS 2011 Q2: Gains for home decoration publications
As per the IRS 2011 Q2 results, the ‘Home Decorations’ category has seen significant growth over 2010 Q2 (1.87 lakh/ 81 per cent gain) and 2009 R1 (3.38 lakh/ 417 per cent gain) in AIR.
Special interest magazines appear right on top among the genre-wise list as they continue to attract readers due to their targeted and focused content. This genre continues to be the highest contributor to the overall magazine readership.
According to the IRS 2011 Q2 results, the ‘Home Decorations’ category in this genre has seen significant growth over 2010 Q2 (1.87 lakh/ 81 per cent gain) and 2009 R1 (3.38 lakh/ 417 per cent gain) in average issue readership (AIR).
An addition in readership base can be observed across titles. Veedu has made an entry into the list at No. 1 with the highest AIR of 1.51 lakh. Good Housekeeping magazine has registered a 15 per cent increase in AIR (14,000) over last year. Inside Outside, while losing a 1 per cent readership base year-on-year, has seen an uptrend over the last two years (20,000/ 25 per cent gain). Society Interiors has witnessed a whopping 59 per cent y-o-y increase in AIR (23,000).
