Upendrra Rai, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Network, has donated ₹50 lakh to his former school, Asht Shaheed Inter College in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur. The amount will go towards constructing a grand southern entrance gate in memory of his late mother, Smt. Radhika Devi. Rai personally laid the foundation stone for the project during a recent visit.
Addressing students and faculty, Rai reflected on his emotional ties to the institution where he studied during 9th and 10th grade. He urged students to embrace learning, humility, and struggle as pillars of personal and professional growth.
Quoting saint Maluk Das and the Bhagavad Gita, he said, “True learning creates real human beings. A life without struggle is lifeless; those who embrace it are the true warriors.”
Rai expressed hope that the school would continue to inspire generations of youth to lead with values, knowledge, and purpose.
