Digital services network To The New has acquired ThoughtBuzz, a leading social media analytics company in India and South East Asia. The acquisition will allow To The New to integrate social media analytics into its digital services portfolio, thus expanding its digital ecosystem to marketing, content, technology and analytics.
Following this acquisition, Anshul Jain, CTO & Founder, ThoughtBuzz and Ashok Patro, Co-Founder & COO, ThoughtBuzz will join the management team at To The New.
ThoughtBuzz provides social media intelligence services for Toyota, Air Asia, Raffles Hotels, 3M, Dr Batra, The Economist, Edelman, Mediacom, Mindshare and more, across sectors such as automobiles, FMCG, airlines, telecom, hospitality, consumer electronics, politics, entertainment and retail.
ThoughtBuzz offers analytical and segmentation capabilities to track public content on social media networks that help marketers make informed decisions based on customers’ perceptions about the brand and its competitors.
IDC estimates the analytics market to be a $51 billion business by 2016. Social media analytics is gaining prominence across the region, with organisations leveraging it to create a competitive edge and gain advanced knowledge about how their products and services are being perceived by their customers.
Commenting on the acquisition, Puneet Johar, Managing Director, To The New said, “We have drawn up plans to invest in and scale up ThoughtBuzz and integrate it with our current offerings to clients. The acquisition of ThoughtBuzz will bring an industry level focus to our services and base them on key consumer and competitive insights.”
This is the second acquisition by To The New in 2013, after Techsailor. Earlier this year, To The New had announced the intent to invest $13 million in its Indian operations over the next three years and further committed to invest $10 million to grow its footprint in the South East Asian region.
Through its business units Ignitee Digital, IntelliGrape Software, Tangerine Digital, and Techsailor, To The New offers expertise in digital marketing, content, technology and analytics. The network collectively manages the mandate for more than 120 clients across Asia, in diverse sectors such as BFSI, Automobiles, E-commerce, FMCG, Retail, Sports, Hospitality and Media & Entertainment.
