Renowned motivational speaker and author Shiv Khera unveiled his highly anticipated book, Live While You’re Alive, at a grand event hosted by the PHD Chamber of Commerce on Friday.
The book serves as a comprehensive guide to overcoming stress and living a life of purpose, focusing on themes such as prioritising relationships over mere connections, embracing responsibility, and seeking help when needed.
The event was graced by the Minister of External Affairs, Dr S. Jaishankar, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, Jaishankar lauded the book’s timely emphasis on resilience and purpose. “This book comes at a time when the need to manage stress and find meaning is critical. It aligns perfectly with India’s narrative of Confidence, Competence, and Commitment—the three pillars shaping both personal growth and our global presence,” he said.
The evening featured an insightful conversation between Shiv Khera and Smita Prakash, Chief Editor of Asian News International (ANI). Moderating the conversation, Prakash explored the challenges of parenting in a tech-driven world, emphasising the stress caused by excessive screen time. Drawing insights from Khera’s book, she shared actionable tips for alleviating these stressors.
Speaking about his book, Khera explained, “Live While You’re Alive is not just a book but a guide to reclaiming lives, restoring productivity, and improving relationships. It’s about resilience, optimism, and finding purpose.” He described stress as a "silent killer" that undermines health, damages relationships, and disrupts society, stressing the importance of managing it effectively. “Stress is normal and natural, but our attitude and how we handle it determine whether we succumb to it or rise above it,” Khera added.
The event drew an impressive roster of attendees, including members of parliament Vivek Tankha, Karthikey Sharma, and Pankaj Singh, along with industry stalwarts and publishing professionals. Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Kiran Bedi, was also present, praising Khera’s work for its relevance in today’s fast-paced, high-stress world.
A heartwarming moment marked the event’s conclusion when two students were awarded scholarships through a lucky draw, spreading joy and inspiration.
With over 13 million copies of his books sold globally, Shiv Khera has solidified his reputation as a leading voice in motivation, leadership, and values. Known for his iconic bestseller You Can Win, Khera’s latest offering, Live While You’re Alive, strikes a chord with readers across generations, presenting a practical roadmap to managing stress and living a purposeful life.
