Prepare for a seismic shift in the conversation around medicine and health as PHARMAGEDDON, a provocative new documentary, stormed the recent Cannes Film Festival. This groundbreaking film, directed by visionary filmmaker Donal O’Neill and produced by global health activist Dr. Aseem Malhotra,  promises to challenge the status quo of the pharmaceutical industry.

The filmmakers unveiled the official poster and first look excerpt of PHARMAGEDDON, at an exclusive cocktail event at the Carlton Hotel during the film festival . The electrifying evening featured a hard-hitting talk and unfiltered Q&A with Dr. Aseem Malhotra, the renowned British cardiologist and fearless advocate for medical reform. Dr. Malhotra was appointed Chief Medical Officer at “Make America Healthy Again” and contributed to the MAHA report, released on May 22, 2025. Known for his stance on over-medication, Covid vaccines, and dietary myths, Dr. Malhotra shared jaw-dropping insights into the systemic issues plaguing modern healthcare.

The event in Cannes also spotlighted the film’s mission to expose the influence of big pharma and champion a healthier, less medicated world.

Besides Dr Malhotra, PHARMAGEDDON features prominent voices, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Dr Fiona Godlee, Jay Bhattacharya MD and Dr Vandana Shiva and delves into the perils of the pharmaceutical industry and the rise of diet-related diseases. Building on the foundation of Malhotra and O’Neill’s previous online release, First Do No Pharm, this updated documentary is a bold call to action. The film set for a worldwide release in 2025 is aiming to bring its urgent message to a global audience.

“We have a pandemic of misinformed doctors and unwittingly harmed patients,” said Dr. Malhotra at the Carlton Hotel. “Medical knowledge is under commercial control, and the benefits of drugs are grossly exaggerated. PHARMAGEDDON is our fight to reclaim truth and prioritize patient health over profits.”

Director Donal O’Neill added, “After years of censorship, PHARMAGEDDON is our chance to break through. We’re ready to work with Hollywood and the new administration to turn the page on a broken system. If you can give us wings, please do.”

PHARMAGEDDON is more than a film, it’s a movement to redefine healthcare.
