K K Venugopal applauds Shilpa Bhasin Mehra at the launch of 'Unfiltered and Unapologetic'

K K Venugopal commended the book for its compassion and its ability to offer guidance through life’s challenges

At the launch of Unfiltered and Unapologetic, Shilpa Bhasin Mehra's new book, K K Venugopal, former Attorney General of India, delivered a heartfelt tribute. The event, held at Venugopal's residence in Neeti Bagh, saw him commend the book for its empathy and its potential to guide readers through life’s challenges.

Venugopal said, “Compassion is something every individual, man or woman, boy or girl, will find useful. When they are facing problems, when they are struggling in life, they will be able to read this book and find strength to overcome those challenges. It will help them in life, whatever the problem.”

Venugopal also reflected on his personal connection with Mehra, recalling her early days as a junior in the profession and her journey through challenges. He shared, ““She was in a bad condition in hospital once. I went and saw her there, but she survived. Today she has fought to regain her entire life. I told her to continue writing, continue publishing and now she has come out with her second book.”

“Even though she may need help in walking, she doesn’t mind. She comes here every three months, has coffee with me, and insists on taking a photograph. She has any number of those photographs. That shows her indomitable spirit. I have a lot of regard for her,” he further added.

Venugopal recognised her years of contribution as a columnist for the Khaleej Times and commended her work.
