Journalist Prabhat Upadhyay clears UPSC, set to join Indian Information Service

Senior journalist Prabhat Upadhyay has cleared the UPSC examination and is now set to join the Indian Information Service (IIS).

Upadhyay is currently serving as Head of Operations at Waves, the OTT platform of Prasar Bharati. With over 13 years of experience in journalism, he has worked with several major media houses across India.

Before joining Waves, he was News Editor at News18 Hindi. Prior to that, he worked at Jansatta.com, The Indian Express Group, NDTV, Dainaik Jagran, Hindustan Times, among others.

Upadhyay completed a PG Diploma in Journalism from IIMC, Delhi, a postgraduate degree in Mass Communication from Guru Jambheshwar University, and certificate courses from Delhi University in Science & Sports Journalism and Human Rights. He is also a graduate of the Centre for Civil Society (CCS).
