Dr. Amit Arya, a media veteran and former media advisor to ex-Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University in Rohtak.
The appointment order was issued by Haryana Governor and University Chancellor Bandaru Dattatreya.
According to the official notification, Dr. Arya will serve a term of three years or until he attains the age of 70.
His term will commence from the date he assumes charge, and the terms and conditions of his appointment will be determined based on the advice of the state government. Relevant departments have been informed accordingly.
In a brief statement to Samachar4Media, Dr. Arya confirmed that he will be taking charge soon.
Dr. Arya brings with him over two decades of experience in journalism and strategic communication. He served as media advisor to former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar from 2014 to 2019 and continued to advise the state leadership for nearly four years thereafter in Delhi and Chandigarh. He later held a national role as Senior Media Consultant to the Government of India, overseeing public communication strategies across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chandigarh.
Most recently, in November last year, Dr. Arya was appointed Senior Consulting Editor with ITV Network and was also entrusted with overseeing India News operations in several northern states. He concluded his tenure there shortly before the current appointment.
Hailing from Haryana, Dr. Arya has had a long and varied career in journalism. A graduate of Himachal Pradesh University, where he was once Secretary of the Students' Union, he began his media journey in 1994 with BAG Films. Over the years, he worked in senior editorial roles with prominent media houses such as Dainik Bhaskar, India TV, Live India, P7 News, MH1 News, and India News, where he contributed to multiple channel launches and editorial operations..
