Aaj Tak leads the Hindi news channel race with highest market share on Pathankot Terror Attack Day
Aaj Tak garners over 21.7 per cent market share on the day of attack

The Pathankot Terror attack gave Hindi news genre an increase of 145.4 million ratings over the previous 4 week average. Aaj Tak became the No.1 channel and garnered 4.8 per cent more market share than the channel that stood second.
According to the press release, the channel stood at 18.5 per cent, ahead of India TV at 13.7 per cent, ABP News at 11.6 per cent, Zee News at 10.7 per cent, News Nation at 10.6 per cent, India News at 9.2 per cent, News24 at 6.9 per cent, IBN 7 at 5.6 per cent and India 24X7 at 4 per cent (Source: BARC, Wk 01’16, HSM (U+R), 15 + Individuals, NCCS All, Share %).
A similar trend in coverage highlighted the massive growth. Aaj Tak fetched 94.5 Million in week 01'16. (Source: BARC, HSM (U+R),15+ Yrs NCCS All). The first channel to report from 'on location', Aaj tak maintained a dominating share of an average 21.7% through the Pathankot attack day.
