Country Marketing Manager, IKEA India, Smedberg to speak on how IKEA communicates to the new-age customers through digital communication

The Techमंच Digital Conference 2018, part of the Indian Digital Marketing Conference & Awards 2018 (IDMA), is a platform that brings together the advertising, marketing and media fraternity of the country to discuss all things digital. The event will see some of the top ranking global influencers give an unmatched perspective into the world of digital marketing. Experts from fields such as digital media, social media, and pure-play marketing are part of this day-long event that combines knowledge seminars, power-packed sessions and awards.

The conference will be followed by IDMA, an awards ceremony that celebrates and encourages talents from the digital marketing space specifically, internet, mobile, gaming, social media and the blogosphere.

At this year’s Techमंच, Ulf Smedberg, Country Marketing Manager, IKEA India, will be addressing a session on ‘Creating a brighter, everyday life - How IKEA communicates this to the new-age customers, through digital communication’. Smedberg has 20 years of marketing experience at IKEA. He has held multiple roles in marketing across geographies including Sweden, Belgium, China, Russia and Korea. He is a member of IKEA country boards in Korea and Australia and also works closely with IKEA's global communication.

He joined IKEA India in 2013 and is responsible for positioning the brand, marketing efficiency and effectiveness across the Asia Pacific region and supports the country marketing teams by sharing best practices, implementing new tools, methods and ways of working. Prior to India, his last assignment was to spearhead marketing for opening up an IKEA store in South Korea, one of the best performing stores for the brand today.

In India, he is the brand custodian and is responsible for all marketing communications, range communication, build-up of the IKEA digital platforms, IKEA India Catalogue, and IKEA Family, the loyalty program for customers.

Smedberg lives in Bengaluru, India. He is married and has two daughters; he loves to travel and is passionate about discovering people and places. His hobbies include running, badminton and swimming.
