Excited and honoured to be on e4m Play Awards 2025 jury: Rajeev Masand

Renowned Indian film critic and journalist Rajeev Masand expressed his excitement about being a part of the jury for the esteemed e4m Play Streaming Media Awards 2025. The content and talent jury meet for the sixth edition of the awards was held on March 17 in Mumbai. With years of experience in analysing and reviewing films, Masand’s inclusion in the panel added significant value to the judging process. He highlighted how the awards recognise outstanding contributions in the entertainment and digital content space, celebrating creativity and innovation in storytelling.

Masand acknowledged the growing influence of digital platforms and how they have transformed the way audiences consume content. He emphasized the importance of recognizing talent across various formats, from web series to branded content, and how such awards motivate creators to push boundaries.

“Very excited and honoured to be on the jury of the e4m Play Streaming Media Awards 2025. I think it's an exciting initiative. For this year, we're trying to achieve solid credibility. When you're led by a jury chair like the distinguished Santosh Sivan, you know that we're setting a very high standard, very high bar, in terms of choosing the right films, shows, performances that deserve to be awarded. The nominations are varied and genuinely unique. It's an opportunity to revisit some shows and films that mothers already watched, but also a chance to actually catch up on shows and films that you missed when they were when they first dropped on streaming”, Masand said.

“The whole streaming ecosystem is one that that is exciting and so varied that it becomes tough to pick one above the other. Choosing winners is always difficult, because there are such great performances and such amazing shows that are being created every other month. I think we applied high standards, deciding that what should be rewarded is originality, innovation and daring and I think that's what streaming stands for! Creating something for the streaming ecosystem allows you to take big, bold swings, and we felt that that is what we wanted to reward. So hopefully, you'll see some very original and exciting shows and performances and films that are being awarded this time”, he further added.

The jury chair for the e4m Play Streaming Media Awards 2025 was Santosh Sivan, Padmashri Awardee and National Award Winning Indian Cinematographar and Director. The other jury members were some of the most renowned faces from the movie fraternity. Each jury member carried a legacy of cinematic brilliance, having shaped the industry with their remarkable work.
