Paytm tells users their money is 'completely safe' after Google takes down app
The app has been removed due to its betting feature, which is against Google's anti-gambling policies
Payment platform Paytm has reached out to users, saying their money is 'completely safe', after Google took down the app from its Play Store.
Dear Paytm'ers,— Paytm (@Paytm) September 18, 2020
Paytm Android app is temporarily unavailable on Google's Play Store for new downloads or updates. It will be back very soon.
All your money is completely safe, and you can continue to enjoy your Paytm app as normal.
Paytm was removed from the store after it added fantasy cricket tournament on the platform that violated Google Play policies. The app is still available for download through Apple App Stone. Google Play has also removed its recently launched Paytm First Games app, where users can bet with real money.
Earlier Google had clarified that it will not allow apps that let users bet as part of its anti-gambling policy. "This includes if an app leads consumers to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments to win real money or cash prizes, it is a violation of our policies,” Googles said.
Although new users on Android devices may not be able to download the app, existing users who already have the app may not face any problems and can continue to use it.For more updates, be socially connected with us on
