My day at Cannes Lions: Day 1 at Cannes Lions was extremely enriching and fulfilling. It was a day full of new experiences, new feelings, the vibe, the atmosphere, listening to some of the inspirational stories from brilliant leaders and entrepreneurs across the globe on the same platform. Few of the speakers on Day 1 were Daniella Rubio- Digital Media Accessibility Consultant, Apple, Alexander Schill - Global Chief Officer, Board Member and Associate Partner, Service Plan Group, Jimin Ryu -Global Director of Partnership, Dot Inc., Sara Martins de Oliveira - Global Head of Brand and Media, Vodafone, Kerry Washington - Actor, Director, Producer.
What did I learn: Media is a very powerful tool which can be used to make an impact on society. It’s not just a medium for business but can also be used for creating awareness about human rights, breaking stereotypes and women empowerment.
What was interesting about Day 1: Every minute of Day 1 was interesting for me. What really caught my attention was how marketers are developing technologies to make products user-friendly for a larger audience. Brands are becoming more responsible than earlier and are investing in breaking stereotypes.
