Confirmed sources indicate that Zee Television President Sunil Khanna has decided to call it a day. The word in the official circuit is that he has already submitted his papers to Subhash Chandra, and is awaiting his release. He was associated with the organization for ten years.
Khanna started out as a mechanical engineer from IIT (Kharagpur), and then went on to do his MBA from IIM, Bangalore. He first came into prominence when he was appointed CEO, Zee Turner Limited. Subsequently, he was brought in to fill the void left by Apurva Purohit (then President, Zee). The ushering in of Khanna occurred towards end December, amidst endless rounds of restructuring and fresh appointments.
The mild and always polite Khanna has been the driving force behind Zee’s newest initiatives in programming, such as Lavanya and Zee Cine Stars Ki Khoj. In his many interactions with the media fraternity, he has always emphasized on the need to innovate and to explore fresh ground.
