Some RAPAs for Radio City, Radio One, Red FM this year
Radio Mirchi, Radio One, and Red FM were some of those who emerged victorious at the 32nd All India RAPA Awards 2006. RAPA Chairman and radio legend Ameen Sayani and actress Tabassum were present to give out the awards at the ceremony held in Mumbai on Friday evening.

The Radio and TV Advertising Practitioners’ Association of India Ltd (RAPA) held its 32nd award function in Mumbai on Friday evening, amidst celebrities like actress Tabassum and radio legend Ameen Sayani, who is also the Chairman of RAPA. The 32nd RAPA All India Awards 2006 gave away over 70 awards across 59 categories for advertisements created in the radio and television domain.
Radio Mirchi won four awards under the Jingle and Radio Spot categories both in Bengali and Tamil; Radio One walked away with three awards in the Public Service spot, Radio Programme, and Jingle categories; while Red FM won three awards in various categories. Radiowani and Doordarshan also bagged a few in different categories.
In television, Star One, Star Plus, SAB TV, Zee Marathi, Sony TV and Doordarshan emerged winners. As for agencies and other media production companies, Quadrant Communications, Communications Mumbai, Genesis Media, Anshu & Dhruv Smoke Music Productions, individual entrant Dhananjay Kale who runs the company D’s Jingleshop, and Rohan’s Eye, Pune, took away trophies.
Some of those who did not figure victorious in the awards but had entered include Balaji Telefilms, Big FM, Radio City, Television Eighteen, Aastha and Sahyadri. The jury comprised almost 36 members, including Jane Swamy, Javed Siddiqui, Anju Kapoor, Sarla Rao and Arvind Joshi.
