Real change: Sharada Sunder to oversee programming till replacement in place

Following the exit of Gitanjali Murari from the newly-launched Hindi GEC Real, Sharada Sunder, President, Real Global Broadcasting, will be overseeing programming till a replacement is found. Murari was Head of Content at Real and had joined the channel in May 2008. She was responsible for developing and producing content for the channel.

This development was confirmed by Sunil Lulla, Director, Real Global Broadcasting Pvt Ltd.

Real, which was launched on March 2, 2009, is struggling with ratings and has not been able to go beyond 17-18 GRPs. However, the channel is sprucing up its marketing strategy and is hopeful of the numbers going up once the Indian Premier League (IPL) is over.

Prior to Real, Murari was with Pix, the English movie and event channel under Multi Screen Media (formerly known as Sony), where she was the Head of Programming. She was also involved with the brand’s marketing and advertising sales functions.
