George John, a prominent name in the world of advertising, has passed away. John was the founder of Anthem that was subsequently acquired by TBWA/India.
John's stint in advertising began with Lintas as a media planner in 1969, helping the agency to introduce modern planning models. He moved to account management six years later. After 10 years at Lintas, he moved to Ulka (now FCB-Ulka) as Executive Director.
In 1988, George founded Anthem in Delhi. Anthem subsequently joined the TBWA network in 1998.
He hailed from Kerala.
