Commonwealth Mumbai hub strengthens leadership team
Brings on board Loveleen Raina as Regional Business Leader, Steve Hugh as Regional Creative Dir & Sandip Mahapatra as Regional Planning Dir

Commonwealth, the General Motors centric communication agency which is a joint partnership between McCann and Goodby Silverstein and Partners, has boosted the leadership team at its Mumbai hub.
The senior leadership team comprises Loveleen Raina, who has joined as the Regional Business leader; the creative function will be led by Regional Creative Director Steve Hugh, who shifts from Ogilvy Dubai; and Sandip Mahapatra has joined as Regional Planning Director and will lead the Strategic Planning function.
Commenting on the leadership team, Prasoon Joshi, Executive Chairman and CEO of McCann Worldgroup India and Board Member of Commonwealth Global said, “Commonwealth is a drive for excellence and efficiency and am pleased to have such an experienced and talented leadership leading the Mumbai hub.”
Raina comes with impressive credentials of not only prior experience on GM business, but also that of managing agency operations in Delhi and Mumbai. In addition, she has led the Regional hub for Motorola whilst at Ogilvy.
Hugh and has worked in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the UK. He brings with him extensive automobile experience, having worked on brands such as Volvo, Volkswagen, Toyota and Honda. Starting with Saatchi & Saatchi London moving onto Collett Dickenson Pearce, he worked with Colenso BBDO in Auckland, O&M in Singapore for four years and then joined Saatchi & Saatchi Kuala Lumpur as CD, where he worked on the Regional Guinness re-positioning and wrote the ‘Greatness’ tagline that was run globally. A Cannes Gold Lion and multiple D&Ads, Cios, Cannes and One Shows find a place on Steve’s desk.
This is Mahapatra’s second stint with McCann. A few years ago, he headed the planning function for McCann North India before leaving for Indonesia. He has worked across the Asian region and is well regarded for his insightful and astute thinking. His articles form part of Jean Marie Dru’s celebrated book: Disruption.
