Publicis India has been appointed as the creative agency for travel portal Cleartrip.com following a multi-agency pitch. The two other agencies in the fray were Euro RSCG and TBWA. Cleartrip had first signed on an agency in July 2006 for its creative duties. The media duties are handled in-house by the client. The reported size of the business then was Rs 15 crore and is expected to go up. Beehive Communications is the incumbent agency.
Noel Swain, Marketing Manager, Cleartrip.com, said, “We are expecting the new agency to drive our product with a 360-degree approach. This includes television, outdoors, print and on-ground activities on a large scale.”
When asked about the change of agency, Swain explained, “Various issues were involved in the decision behind the change of agency. Beehive is handling various other clients in the travel space. It was difficult working with an agency handling clients in the same space. Besides this, we were looking for new opportunities in terms of creativity.”
