Alkem Labs appoints Starcom as Media AoR, account size pegged Rs 15 crore

Starcom MediaVest Group has been appointed the media planning and buying AOR by Alkem Laboratories. The appointment is one of the first and formative steps of the company in getting into marketing consumer products, where they needed help from a media specialist to guide them through their contact planning and investment. The account size is pegged in the vicinity of Rs 15 crore.
Commenting on the appointment, Praful Gupta, Marketing Manager, Alkem Laboratories said, “I have worked with Starcom before, when they were handling Balsara, and I am aware of their professional, passionate and the ‘nuts and bolts’ approach to communication and contact planning. They now seem even stronger on real time delivery with the capability to handle almost all aspects of communication, through their various divisions and arms. They have been launch experts and it’s a pleasure to work with them again. As we speak, they are already a key member of the team busy in developing launch strategies with us.”

They are likely to come up with products in the ‘functional foods’ space. The creative account resides with Capital Advertising. The company is now taking strides and focusing their energies in building OTC products. Major expansion plans are on the anvil to build strong OTC brands in the near future.
