Publicis Media India wins Lenovo media account worth Rs 300 Cr

The account includes duties for Lenovo as well as Motorola

After a mutli agency media pitch, handset major Lenovo, has awarded its media duties to Publicis Media. The win includes its global media strategy, planning and buying through a bespoke client unit called Lenovo One Media, which will be directed by Performics and Spark Foundry. The account size in India is estimated to be between Rs 300-350 crore.

For both the accounts Mindshare India is the incumbent agency. exchange4media on Thursday had reported about the pitch process.

Commenting on the association, Matt Bereda, VP of Marketing at Lenovo, said, “We are excited to work with Publicis Media to consolidate our media activation efforts and leverage their best practices for driving more efficiency and effectiveness.”

Scott Shamberg, Performics US CEO, said, “Our mission is to be the premier growth driver for Lenovo across their B2C and B2B business units. We’re excited to be partnering with Lenovo to connect and integrate their performance media planning, buying and optimization across a large number of markets.”

Mayoori Kango, Managing Director at Performics. Resultrix India, added, “We are very happy to expand our two-year local digital relationship with Lenovo PC division to now a larger all media mandate across whole of Lenovo and Motorola through this global win. Lenovo, which sells Motorola phones after it acquired the company in 2014, was the No 2 player in the Indian market in the July-September 2016 with 9.6% market share, as per IDC India data. However, it slipped to the fifth spot with 7% market share in April-June 2017, with Xiaomi rising up the ranks to take the No 2 position.
