Shashvat Nakrani, Founder of BharatPe, has shared that he will step away from the company’s day-to-day operations and move into a strategic advisor role from 1 May.

In a post on LinkedIn, Nakrani said he had been reflecting on what he wants to focus on next and plans to explore new ideas and ventures. He also stated, “I will remain actively involved in key strategic matters like fundraising, IPO, M&A, long term business strategy among other key issues.”

Nakrani co-founded BharatPe in 2018 while studying at IIT Delhi. The company was set up to help small merchants with digital payments and access to credit, and he said it has since grown into a key player in that space.

Nakrani added that while he is stepping back from daily responsibilities, he will continue to be connected to BharatPe and contribute wherever needed.
