Journalist Namita Joshi has been given a larger role at Navbharat Times (NBT). She has been appointed as the first woman editor of NBT, as the head of the paper’s Sunday Edition, in addition to her existing responsibilities.
Currently serving as a Senior Editor, Namita has been leading the newspaper’s feature supplements for several years. Joshi has reportedly been promoted to Editor of the Sunday edition of the paper, following the retirement of Rajesh Mittal, the current Sunday Editor.
Joshi began her journey at NBT as a trainee. Over the years, she has contributed to several key teams, including the news desk, front page, and national pages. She has also spent significant time working on the editorial (edit) page.
For the past decade, she has led the features team and is widely respected for her in-depth work on women’s issues. Her regular column, "Kabhi Socha Hai..." (Ever Thought About...), addresses important and sensitive topics related to women, making a strong impact among readers.
Joshi is also the creative force behind NBT’s All Women Bike Rally, an annual event held on International Women’s Day. Additionally, she has been leading the ongoing "Barabari Ki Bhasha" (Language of Equality) campaign.
