Industry veteran Mayar Penkar is all set to join DB Corp as the new COO - Corporate Sales.
This comes after Chief Corporate Sales and Marketing Officer Satyajit Sengupta's exit from the company in April.
Penkar brings over two decades of rich experience, having spent 22 years at Sony Pictures Networks India, most recently as Executive Vice President – Sales.
During his tenure, he led high-performance teams and championed platform-agnostic monetization strategies tailored to client KPIs. Known for his focus on digital transformation, agility, and automation in a volatile media environment, Penkar was instrumental in shaping Sony’s modern ad-sales narrative across genres.
Before Sony, Penkar worked with Turner International, Mid-Day, and The Indian Express, building a foundation across both traditional and emerging media formats.
His move comes at a pivotal time for DB Corp, which has been realigning its revenue strategy amidst changing media consumption patterns. Penkar’s appointment signals a continued push towards integrated brand solutions and advertiser partnerships across platforms.
