Jitender Dabas to move on from McCann after a decade

Sources have told exchange4media that one of the top planners in the sub-continent, Jitender Dabas is moving on from McCann Worldgroup. Dabas is currently the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at the agency. He is currently serving his notice period at the agency.

Dabas started his career with Draft FCB Ulka (now known as FCB Ulka) and has close to 25 years of experience in the advertising industry having worked with brands such as Pepsi Foods, Nokia, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Hero Honda, General Motors, Mastercard and Sony, among others. An engineering student from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, Dabas has also worked at J Walter Thompson (JWT) and Grey Worldwide India Pvt Ltd but spent a big part of his career, more than a decade at McCann leading the strategy for McCann Worldgroup companies in India - McCann, McCann Health, MRM/McCann, Momentum Worldwide.

He is the recipient of WPP’s prestigious Atticus Award for Original Thinking in Marketing & Advertising and the winner of more than 100 Effectiveness and Strategy Awards across the globe ranging from National to Asia-Pacific Effies, WARC prize for Global and Asian Strategy, AMEs, the APPIES and the 4A’s Jay Chiat Strategy Awards. He has been on the Jury for several awards for Global & Indian strategy, and also in effectiveness awards, including Cannes Lions, WARC, 4A’s Jay Chiat, among others.
