Google has appointed Amin Vahdat as the chief technologist for AI infrastructure, as per media reports.
This change establishes AI Infrastructure as a key focus area for the company, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian was reported as saying.
Amin Vahdat serves as an Engineering Fellow and Vice President of the Machine Learning, Systems, and Cloud AI team.
He is a prominent researcher in Computer Science, with over 200 peer-reviewed publications and more than 54,000 citations. His work spans cloud infrastructure, software-defined networking, data consistency, operating systems, storage, data center architecture, and optical networking.
