In a significant leadership transition within JioStar, Anuradha Mathu Agrawal will now helm the mid-market portfolio for entertainment ad sales.

This move comes as Dhruv Dhawan, who was previously appointed as the Head of Digital Growth for mid-tier and emerging clients with a regional focus at the merged Disney-Reliance entity, steps down from his role, sources told exchange4media.

According to industry insiders, Dhawan—who played a pivotal role in driving ad sales at Disney+ Hotstar before the mega-merger between Disney and Reliance—has officially resigned.

However, his future plans remain undisclosed. Agrawal, currently serving as Executive Director at JioStar, has been associated with Disney Star since August 2016. She will now take charge of the mid-market portfolio for entertainment ad sales, a segment that was previously under Dhawan’s leadership, sources confirmed.

With a deep understanding of regional markets, Agrawal has been instrumental in driving ad sales across key languages, including Marathi, Bengali, and Oriya.

Before this, she successfully led ad sales for the Telugu market and handled the Kids portfolio. Bringing over three decades of industry experience, Agrawal was appointed Senior Vice President at Disney Star in 2016. She has also managed Star Plus in the past.

Before joining the network, she served as the National Revenue Head at CNN-News18 for a little over a year.
