Ankur Kapila as National Sales Head – Digital, at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) signals a sharper strategic push to scale its digital revenue business amid accelerating consumption across OTT and connected platforms.
Kapila, who took on the role in February 2026, will lead digital sales for the company’s streaming platform ZEE5 and broader digital ecosystem. The move underscores ZEEL’s intent to strengthen monetisation in one of its fastest-growing segments, even as advertisers increasingly shift spends towards measurable and engagement-driven formats.
Prior to joining ZEEL, Kapila was with JioHotstar as Vice President – Sports Gamification, where he spent over three years driving interactive audience engagement initiatives. He led the popular “Jeeto Dhan Dhana Dhan” campaign, which became a key lever for boosting user participation during live sports programming, blending content with gamified advertising experiences.
Zee Entertainment rejigs sales structure.
Kapila’s appointment in February 2026 also marks his return to the ZEE Group, where he previously spent more than 14 years across multiple leadership roles. In his last stint, he served as Head – Brand Solutions (West & South) for Zee Network Integrated Platforms from April 2022 to October 2022, working closely on integrated advertising solutions across markets.
