Ampreet Singh appointed new CEO of Networkplay

Singh replaces Rammohan Sundaram, the previous CEO & Founder of Networkplay. He will continue his current duties as VP, Distribution & Client Servicing

Ampreet Singh appointed new CEO of Networkplay

Gruner+Jahr (G+J) has appointed Ampreet Singh CEO of Networkplay with immediate effect. He replaces Rammohan Sundaram, the previous CEO and Founder of Networkplay, who leaves the company by mutual agreement.

Sundaram and his team had built up and grown Networkplay since its incubation in 2008. In March 2012, G+J, the publishing division of European media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG, had acquired a majority stake in Networkplay.

Singh has been with Networkplay since it’s early days. Before becoming a Co-founder of Networkplay, he had worked with Nokia Interactive Advertising, Yahoo India and Tribal DDB in leadership positions and is an expert in the digital space. In his new role as CEO, Singh will be responsible for the overall strategy and direction of Networkplay’s business. He will continue his current duties as Vice President, Distribution & Client Servicing and Production Director of Ad:Tech India at Networkplay in addition to his new role.

On his new role, Singh said, “Backed by G+J’s long-term commitment to the Indian market, I look forward to the task of leading Networkplay into a bright future, across all digital channels.”

It may be recalled that last week, Networkplay inked a deal to acquire mobile ad network Seventynine from digital media conglomerate Smile Vun Group. Seventynine will be an independent business unit under the Networkplay umbrella, with its management reporting directly into the board.
