Senior journalist Aditya Raj Kaul has stepped down from TV9 Network after an impactful three-and-a-half-year tenure as Senior Executive Editor for Corporate, National Security, and Strategic Affairs.

During his time at the network, Kaul led the production and direction of over 70 documentaries for TV9 and its OTT platform News9Plus, earning more than 20 national and international awards. His accolades include the prestigious Red Ink Special Mention Award by Mumbai Press Club and the Ram Jethmalani Journalism Prize by The Sunday Guardian Foundation and Jethmalani Family, which carries a gold medallion and a cash reward of ₹14 lakh. In 2024, he was also honoured with exchange4Media’s 40 Under 40 Award for Journalism of Courage.

Kaul was instrumental in conceptualising and launching the NEWS9 Global Summits—a marquee initiative of the TV9 Network. He curated and hosted high-profile summits in India, Germany, and the UAE featuring dignitaries such as Prime Ministers Narendra Modi, David Cameron, and Tony Abbott, and ministers including Dr. S. Jaishankar, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Abdullah Shahid, and Mariya Didi.

While Kaul is yet to formally announce his next move, sources suggest he is likely to take up a senior editorial leadership role at a prominent television news network. Kaul is likely to take up his new role in September.

Speaking to exchange4media, Kaul confirmed the development and extended his heartfelt gratitude to TV9 Network MD & CEO Barun Das and My Home Group Vice Chairman Ramu Rao Jupally for their unwavering support and cooperation during his tenure at the TV9 Network.

Widely regarded as one of the country’s leading editorial voices on national security, foreign policy, and conflict reporting, Kaul is also considered a foremost expert on Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan affairs. He was among the first in Indian and International Media to report on the details of Pahalgam Terror Attack and reveal launch of Operation Sindoor which made his social media posts go viral during the India-Pakistan conflict for most accurate news and analysis.

Kaul is also the key Consultant behind the upcoming film Dhurandhar by Uri-fame Director Aditya Dhar starring Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshay Khanna and Arjun Rampal.

With over 16 years of experience across television, print, and digital platforms in India and abroad, Kaul has previously worked with renowned media organizations including Network18, Times Now, The Times of India, Republic TV, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
