According to media reports quoting tax officials, Jaya TV had made huge investments post demonetisation, floated shell companies and possessed unexplained cash.
Jaya TV is controlled by Divakaran brother of jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala and is headed by her nephew Vivek Jayaraman. Both of them are being investigated, according to media reports. In addition to Jaya TV, Jazz cinemas is also owned and operated by Vivek Jayaraman and other members of the family.
